Commonly Asked Questions

  • Each counselling session costs $145 (includes tax). Each Reiki session is $100 (includes tax)

  • Sessions are 60 minutes.

  • You can discuss topics that you are comfortable discussing. During the first session we will discuss some background and your current concerns.

  • You will receive an email 1 hour prior with a link to the virtual session. If you are using your mobile device for this session please download the Jane Online Appointments app from the App Store. If you are using a laptop you will be able to click the link that will be provided in the email 1 hour before the session. Please be in a quiet and distraction free room.

  • You will receive a phone call at the scheduled time of your appointment. Ensure you are in a distraction free and confidential space.

  • Payment is due at the time of service. E-transfer, cash, Visa, Mastercard, and debit is accepted.

  • Insurance plans I can direct bill to are: Cooperators, Blue Cross, NIHB, Green Shield, Indigenous Service Canada, and Victim Services.

    Many other insurance plans allow you to be reimbursed for your counselling sessions with a registered social worker. If you are unsure if your insurance company covers social work, please give them a call.

  • NIHB provides mental health and addiction counselling for Indigenous People. Every 12 months, eligible clients can receive up to 22 hours of counselling performed by an eligible provider on a fee-for-service basis (such as, individual, family or group counselling). Additional hours in the same 12 month period may be provided on a case-by-case basis.

    I can direct bill to NIHB. Please note if you're eligible when inquiring about an appointment. At the time of the first session I will need your status number.

  • Cancellation policy is 12 hours notice prior to the scheduled appointment. This policy is to ensure there is enough time to arrange another client appointment for that time slot. You may be billed if there is less than 12 hours notice.

  • Yes, I can do referrals to treatment centres upon your request and readiness for treatment.

  • I can’t diagnose mental health disorders. I can’t provide prescription medication. I can guide you to the appropriate services in your local area.
